The Wedding

Ben's cousin Matt Taylor married Becky on Friday the 17th in Manchester at 2pm in the afternoon in a beautiful old church in a quaint little town, right across from a pub!  Now that really makes for a fun pre-ceremony party!

Here is the groom's side of the family in front of the church, after the wedding:

So from left to right, it's Ben's brother Andrew, his Uncle Martin (and the groom's father), Cousin Christine (Ann's daughter), Aunt Ann (Martin's Wife), Cousin Faye (who's farmhouse you'll see in a later post), then her brother and groom, Matt, Bride Becky, Groom's Mother Ann, Ben's Mother Gill, then Ben's half sister Carolyn (who is expecting her first baby!),  her husband Al, Ben's father Des, Ann's husband Ian, then Ben and finally Faye's husband Charlie.

Hope you got all that!

Here is a picture of Ben and I outside the church:

and across the street, there's that pub I was talking about!

I love Ben giving the side eye at the rowdies outside the church, you never want to mess with a man in a grey suit, black shirt and a purple tie, that's got mafia written all over it!

So apparently there is a ring master of sorts at English weddings, he directs people where to go and when, and also introduces the family members and others making speeches at the reception.  I think the ring master persona was reinforced with his red waistcoat jacket.  Ben wanted to try it on, but he refused and Ben had to settle for this picture instead:

Good thing because I'm pretty sure Ben would have split that jacket in half!

So onto the pictures I know you all want to see, the drunken revelry that is the wedding reception, and what a revelry it was!  I was very pleased to discover that Ben and his entire family also get dance fever when the music and booze comes together, we showed that dance floor how it's done!  So here are some random shots of posing and dancing, enjoy!

Tough Brothers!

Mum and sons, aw!

Raised eyebrow anyone?

A little more of your standard 'couple wedding photo'.

Like father, like son!

And so begins the Mick Jagger Dance Off between the groom and Charlie!

They both brought the intensity, but.......

I think this picture of Charlie brought it to a whole other level!

So a great time was had by all, but most especially from the drunk girl in the black dress with a pom pom on her head:

YIKES!!!
